She's finished now. All it needs is a final layer of wax and then some gentle buffing. Fortunately I have another three weeks to enjoy her cos I'm proud to tell you she'll be going abroad to her new owner. If the time permits i'll play around with it & try to make some better pictures.
Update; Here are some more pictures to be found;

@ Caseymini, In this album, https://picasaweb.google.com/petitpunt , are more pics. (I've placed a link under the blog as well in case this one doesn't work) Also on the build of this table. I hope some pictures answer your questions?
ReplyDelete@ Jeffry, Margaret and Niels, Shall I make me another one? Not the same of course, but one alike? Who knows...? I could, but would need to buy a new marble top first. Or it could be one without it, with just a wooden top....? Who knows....?
@ Evelien, the best way to keep it all things even is to carve simultaneously. Or to put it blunt, to carve a little bit on one piece, go on to the next piece and do the same. Constantly checking they remain the same shape & dimensions etc. Then get back to the first part and carve some more. Finishing one piece completely and then trying to make an exact copy of it is undoable. I guess that goes for a lot of other techniques as well. The pictures in the album show it too; I made the four legs at the same time, and again, did the same with the lower shelf parts.
@ Karin Corbin, I gladly bow for you and accept the title :)))
ReplyDeleteDebora, I agree with Karin, you are the master! Stunning, brilliant work!

ReplyDeletewat een mooi kunstwerk heb je gemaakt, welgemeende complimenten! je liefde voor hout, je oog voor detail, je volharding en creatief denken, het is allemaal te lezen in dit werk.
ReplyDeleteheel, heel mooi!
Oh Debora!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful! You are so talented. I can't decide whether I'm more impressed or inspired - I'm not sure I have the patience to try it though - you have a clever way of making it look effortless.
Apologies for my late comment, I'm slowly working through them all and catching up .
Best wishes
Simon
Thank you Simon, sweet words and brave you try to catch up ;))) :) Funny to find you here, all the way back in history. It's confronting... Sometimes i forget all the things done in the past... Am i the only one feeling that?! Oooh, how time flies!!! Thank God, for the internet... But remember: they say anything put up here, will always stay up in the air, so when you're old and grey... you can always say to your grand children; Look what Grandpa did when he was your age :))))
