testing, testing, 1,2,3...

I was researching acanthus leaves the other day. Oooh how I love that classic ornament from the Roman era. An elegant depiction of one of nature's beauty. I wanted to see if it could be used, because you gotta test things out before...

  3. Thanks Catherine. It's carved out of lime wood just to see, the plan is to use steamed pear for the finished pieces. That will look even better.

Elga, I wont teach you anything until you tell me how you got rid of the stain of one of your Queen Anne chairs :-)) I recall you weren't happy with the color and finish it had and you brought it back to bear state. I remember looking at them both in exhibition to see if i could detect any color difference between them.... and there was none! They both had a beautiful finish and i was like; It can't have been stain...? Was it...? Nooo! It wasn't...? Or was it...? How else could she...?

  8. I just HAPPEN to have a whole pdf book on all the in and outs of the acanthus leaf. EVERYTHNG you ever wanted about it actually. If you'd like a copy send me an email and I will email it to you. I don't usually do this but I have a feeling you are one of those people who would really appreciate the resource.
