A big THANK YOU for this precious gift

Look what St Nicolas has given me! He spoiled me with this lovely treat, worked of a pattern from Annelle Ferguson's Traditional Needlework in Miniature. In actual fact, it was my Mother-in-law who made it. I'm so proud of her skills with needle and thread. Terrific job! She left it up to me to decide what it will become, cos even though it is worked on count 38 per inch, it's too big for the chair that the design originally is meant to become. Wouldn't it be lovely to become a wall hanging?

  8. It is lovely and will look wonderful as a wall hanging. Good to have a mom-in-law that can stitch.

I have wanted to make and stitch this chair for a while, I started with the chair sometime ago and then put it aside since I didn't have time for it. Kind of funny, I decided to treat myself and worked on it this weekend and will start gluing the first one together tomorrow.

  10. Now that is a coincidence Elga. Indeed funny, funny how sometimes a subject seems to be in the air, and different people are working on the same thing. Good luck with it, it's a big project but worth the effort once finished.

Christmas may come early anytime :) Simon. I love the subdued color tones too, they are gorgeous.

  19. My schoonmama gave it unfinished on purpose. That way I could choose what it would become. But now it's decided it will become a wall hanging she has offered to do an extra band around it. Isn't that wonderful!? All I have to do is turn a pair of delicate finials to decorate the rod it's gonna hang from. Hmm, I feel so privileged to work together with her :)
